- Finding Information - String Logic can find candidates that normal sourcing methods will miss completely, it's a complete abandonment of normal sourcing approaches.
What can you expect to walk away with after the course?
The recruiter course is about 8 hours and is broken up into two days. This course is designed especially for recruiters. It will change every part of your re-cruitment process, from reading requisitions to the questions you ask your hiring managers. Most importantly it will increase your ability to find great candidates faster than any other recruiter on your team! You will become the go-to-person when it comes to finding anything on the Net, let alone candidates!
The recruiter course is available live via (tele-conference), or an instructor can come to your facility. 10 attendees are required for an onsight traing course on String Logic. Anything less would be covered via teleconference. String logic will change your entire recruiting process and improve candidate quality and flow.
String Logic
Within the first twenty minutes of the course you will begin to realize that String Logic is a very different way of interfacing with any database. It is so fundamentally different, that most people say "that's why my results were so bad, now I get it". It's like a revelation and the effect is immediate. This is not a marketing ploy; it's the reality of the power of String Logic.
How does String Logic compare to other courses available?
String Logic is by far the most effective and efficient way to source for candidates in any database. Open databases like Yahoo or Google have literally billions of pages covering every conceivable subject, that's where String Logic really shows its power. Its effectiveness reaches far beyond traditional Internet sourcing. Techniques like; site flipping, back-doors and even peeling are still being offered as legitimate research methods. Those types of techniques have long since been abandoned by the present day thinking. The continued use of methods like flipping and back-doors indicates just how little is understood about dealing with the Internet. Other classes available are generally very long winded and boring. Some time ago we taught the Basic String Logic Course to some high-school students. We ran across some of these same students about two years later at a similar event and they remembered us and were able to pass a quick test like the one on our test page. How many classes have you taken that went in one ear and out the other. There's just so much to learn, is there enough time in the day to implement it all? Everyone has a lot of fun in our String Logic classes because as the light turns on you realize the enormous power you have just acquired. After about two hours of String Logic there's an energy that takes over the room. String Logic is really that much fun!
Manager Problems:
Sometimes you have a manager who never likes a candidate. No matter what you do to figure it out, no mater how many candidates you present, the manager never makes a hire. The only logical answers are; the manager does not know what he or she wants, or the more likely, the manager is unwilling or unable to convey what he/she really wants to see in a candidate. String Logic will reveal the secret nearly every time, and you won’t even need to speak to the manager to get it. WOW, is that possible? YES, it is with String Logic. The data exists; you just have to know where to look. If String Logic can help you find a candidate for a manager who is unwilling to tell you what the “real” specs are, then imagine what it can do if you have the (real) specs.
The Job description:
Another issue in finding candidates is the numerous ways they will express their skill set on a resume. Searching by title is dangerous because twenty people doing the same job can have 15 different titles. Searching by skill set is problematic because (again) the skill set can often times be expressed many different ways. Every recruiter has had a manager give them a resume of what he or she says is a great candidate. After looking at the resume, you say to yourself, “This is a resume I would have never presented”. The problem is, you’re using “key words” to find candidates, when sometimes the ability to do the job is expressed in a series of sentences that do not contain your key words.
If you have been recruiting in the same field for a long time you MIGHT understand why that candidate was a fit. Most recruiters are not specialists in any one field, though they will say they are, to get a job. A good recruiter needs to be able to recruit in a wide range of skill sets to survive the downturns in their industry. Even if you have been recruiting in the same field for some time, each company will want the candidate to look a little different.
Though we wouldn't recommend it; with String Logic, it is possible to find a candidate without speaking to the manager or having a clue as to what the candidates job is. Why become an expert on what the candidate is doing to the point that you could do the job yourself. String Logic will allow you to keep the understanding of the job only close enough to be able to present it properly to the candidate. You should already be an expert on selling the company, that’s really why they’re paying you.
Database Mining:
Before you take the String Logic course, pick any database (whether it’s an open Search Engine or a resume board) and pull out every candidate you can find. After the class, go back to the same database and you will be surprised how many more candidates you find. Why? Because, before you were using the job description to find a candidate. Creating a search query using a job description will find job descriptions not candidates. On paper, the way a manager expresses what he or she wants the candidate to do, and the way a candidate expresses what they’re able to do, are two very different perspectives. That’s why (in many cases) job descriptions find job descriptions, and not candidates. Take the String Logic Course; we’ll take the pain out of sourcing and make searching the Internet loads of fun.
