Most people believe that search engine technology is doing a good job at fielding results but that could not be further from the truth.
Never in history has a resource like the Internet been available for engineers. Whether you're a software or hardware engineer, you'll probably find your self using the Internet or some kind of database to look up something several times every day. The quantity of engineering resources available on the Net alone is almost overwhelming. Most engineers we encounter feel they already have a good understanding of the Net. Since engineers use the Internet so often, they have become accustom to searching the Net and feel pretty good about the results they're getting. In fact, most people believe they have a good understanding of Internet or database search! That is, until they take the String Logic course. If we have a group of engineers in a class that was paid for by their employer, they usually walk in yawning looking for the free food. They have little to no expectation that this class will offer them anything they don't already know. Within an hour though, the attitude of the room changes completely. It can be very exciting as they begin to realize the power of String Logic. If something actually works, engineers will embrace it.
Expectations
Expect to find everything you can now, just much faster. You can also expect to find things you may believe are impossible at the moment. If you can answer yes to the following statements, then you are a candidate for String Logic.
When I search for code, I use a term that (in some way) defines the name or purpose of the code.
If I search with an actual piece of code I enter it unmodified and search.
When I search for Specifications, I use search terms that define its function or its name.
If I have a part number, I enter the number and search, if I get nothing I'm done.

How Does it Work?
String Logic is a way of using a search engine that is counterintuitive but extremely powerful. Most people believe that search engine technology is doing a good job at fielding results but that could not be further from the truth. In fact, little has changed in the last 10 years. The problem is, that all (or most) of the development has been conducted in the areas of software and artificial intelligence. The problem has nothing to do with either one; in reality, it is a hardware problem. Software and artificial intelligence will never be able to compensate for ten people using the same three words for ten different reasons. String Logic abandons any hope that a search engine can actually assist you in any way. Once you let go of the idea that a search engine can assist you in even the tiniest way, searching actually becomes much easier. Whether you are looking for a piece of code or a hardware diagram, String Logic can take you to your target without really searching at all. If you know what you want and you know where it is, you're not really searching, you're simply collecting. That is the power of String Logic!
Is String Logic Like Google Hacking?
No, String Logic is a completely different and a totally new approach. Google hacking or Google hacks, requires you to learn many different letter or number combinations to acquire a target. There are even books on the subject. String logic is many times more powerful and much easier to learn and implement. If you're using Google Hacks and take our course, the experience will probably help you understand String Logic that much faster, but afterwards you'll most likely toss out all your Google Hacking books. String Logic was actually developed in 1994, much earlier than Google hacking or Google for that matter. The technology was sequestered in the corporate intelligence arena until 2006. Very few people in the general population have had access to it.
